What is Arc?
Arc is a free iOS app for watching creator-led vertical series. Titles are episodic, with seasons and episodes that continue week to week, and cover documentaries, drama, comedy, animation, sports and music. Everything is shot for a phone screen rather than cropped to fit one, and every title is made by people.
How Arc is different from a clip feed
On Arc a title has a beginning and an end. Series carry seasons and numbered episodes, new chapters arrive weekly, and the app remembers where you stopped so you can pick a series back up rather than starting over in a shuffled feed.
That is the whole design difference. Clip feeds optimise for the next swipe. Arc optimises for finishing something, which is why episodes run minutes rather than seconds and why the catalog is organised by series and creator instead of by an endless ranked stream.
What you can watch
The catalog spans documentaries and creator deep-dives, scripted drama and comedy, animation, romance, action, sports and music. Independent creators publish most of it, and the catalog grows daily.
Watching is free. An Arc account is required to play episodes, on iOS and on the web.
Who makes the content
Independent creators apply inside the app, upload from their camera roll, and keep control of their work. Arc runs a creator fund that pays out by watch time, so the people whose series get finished earn from them.
